Stone Island x New Balance 991v2
Following the previous launch of their 991v2, they came back together again w/ NB on a trio of 991v2's. This pack pays homage to their "Ghost Pack" & out of the trio, these were 2 pairs that really caught my eye.
Materials: both pairs have a premium nubuck upper & synthetic leather panels throughout the upper. The nubuck has a pretty soft feeling to it & it essentially wraps around the entire shoe besides the parts where there's a ballistic textured mesh. On the tongue you'll find Stone Island's signature patch logo resting above a nylon tongue. As you flip it over to the outsole you'll find a translucentl sole, with the stone island compass underneath it. Lastly, for the final touch of branding, you'll find the final bit of SI branding printed on the insoles. Overall I feel like they did a nice job on this pack and took neutral CWs, while elevating the model & putting a subtle, yet clean spin on it. Between the 3, I personally prefer the 'Beige' colorway, but the black pair is honestly a great pair for everyday wear.
Comfort/Sizing: the 991v2 is a pretty comfortable sneaker & is a lot more comfy than the og 991 due to the addition of fuelcell. I personally wear my 991v2 all day & have zero issues with discomfort. For sizing, I personally recommend sticking with your tts. I feel like you could go half down if needed, but I prefer the little bit of room.
Overall Opinion: as I stated previously, I feel like the did a nice job on these & gave them a nice upgrade from your standard 991v2. I kinda wish they used the same mesh as their first pair, but I'm a sucker for big hole mesh lol. I feel like their og pair is hard to top, but the beige pair in this pack definitely takes the crown as my favorite in the trio.
