CLOT x Adidas Gazelle by Edison Chen
Following the release of the Halo Ivory pair, Edison put another unique spin on the gazelle, but lowkey made them even better lol. With the previous colorway he used a lighter shade of cream & white beads, but the way the khaki color of the upper contrasts with the multi color beads really sets off this colorway for me. Materials: the upper of this pair is made up of a cross weaved hemp material that has a similar weave to what you would find on a weave basket. This material is used t/o the upper & also on the tongue. Wrapping around the toe, is a soft, tan nubuck that feels pretty nice to touch. This nubuck can also be found on the eye stay & wrapping around the back heel. My favorite part is the beaded stripes bc they are multicolored with different shades of š that look really nice in hand. I love that it wasn't a solid š bc the contrast of the š w/ the upper creates a really appealing aesthetic. The beads are threaded into the upper (then I believe glued) but the beads are very well sewn into the design & I haven't had any issues w/ the beads falling off. Next up, I want to mention the edges of the panels have a blue, square embroidery, & it's found on the base of the midsole, edge of the tongue, & wrapping around the back heel. Side note: this design is that it can be worn as slip on or as a regular sneaker bc the back heel is able to fold down. & Lastly, for the branding, there's only one logo & it's on the insole, where you'll find a CLOT & trefoil logo placed right at the bottom in white. Overall, this cw is easily my favorite out of the 2 bc of the way the beads contrast the uppers.
Comfort/Sizing: this specific pair has a very well padded insole, which adds a softer feeling on foot. I'd say these are a little bit more comfy than a regular Gazelle. For sizing, I got these half up (8.5) bc the 8 was too small for me. With this specific design, I'd definitely go a half size up from your tts.
Overall Opinion: I'm really enjoying some of the pairs coming out from EC & honestly they're some of the most unique designs to come out as of recently. Adding beads to an upper & using that as stripes is just really well thought out. This pair is my personal favorite to come out since the beginning of their partnership & idk why but the colors of beads just have a really appealing look in hand & just work very well. If you have a chance to check these out, I'd definitely recommend it.
