I am a sneakerhead episode 222 - @Mddruss

My name is Matt Druss and I'm 40 years old from Tacoma Washington. I've always loved sneakers but wasn't able to really start collecting until about 2007. In my collection I have 280 pairs, and 27 different brands. I try to keep it about there so I sell or donate pairs when I want new ones.

You seem to have a great variety of sneakers in your collection, do you have any favourite brands?

My favorite brand is by far ASICS and then NEW BALANCE.

Do you usually buy sneakers in physical stores or online?

Unfortunately there aren't many "Sneaker shops" in my neck of the woods... when bait first came to Seattle I did a few releases for the 25th anniversary of gl3 but for the most part I just buy online.

Have you ever needed to pay a resell premium for a pair of sneakers?

I try really hard to  avoid resellers, but sometimes the pair I want ends up being "hype" so I have to use resellers. I really try to pick and choose what I buy and only get the pairs I really want instead of just buying everything. This year I think I've only bought 8 pairs or so. I'm not sure what my next purchase will be, but my most recent is the F.O.G. Adidas forum low.

What is your favourite pair in your collection?

It's hard to say what my favorite pair is, I have a few favorites like my unreleased Ronnie Fieg for David Z Saucony Shadow 6000 and 1 of 1 LC23 for Backdoor puma XT-2 just to name a couple. Thanks for the opportunity to share my collection and be featured on your page
